Air mobility for Malta & Gozo
SKY Mobility is building a safer, faster and cleaner way to move urgent goods between communities, businesses and essential services across Malta and Gozo.
Our Flying ZERO air services are designed for professional, regulated operations - supporting healthcare, emergency response, maritime logistics, retail, manufacturing, construction and other time-critical services where speed, reliability and low environmental impact matter.
This page explains how our operations work, what communities can expect, and how we manage safety, noise, privacy and regulation.

Connecting Malta and Gozo by air
Malta and Gozo are close, but time still matters.

When urgent medical items, small critical parts, documents, maritime supplies or other time-sensitive goods need to move quickly, traditional road and ferry routes may not always be the fastest or most efficient option.

SKY Mobility’s Flying ZERO service is designed to create a more resilient connection between the islands — helping businesses, healthcare providers and essential services move suitable lightweight payloads quickly, safely and responsibly.

Our goal is simple: to support Malta and Gozo with a new purpose-driven layer of clean, professional air logistics.
Why it matters

Air delivery can reduce delays for urgent, lightweight and high-value items.
Faster access
Electric aircraft can help reduce unnecessary road journeys for suitable deliveries.
Cleaner movement
Aerial logistics can support healthcare, emergency response, maritime operations and business continuity.
Stronger island resilience
Some small urgent deliveries do not need a van, car or motorbike.
Less pressure on roads
Time is precious. Local businesses can serve customers, partners and operational sites more efficiently.
Better service option
Commited to Safety
Safety comes before every flight.

SKY Mobility’s operations are planned and managed using professional aviation procedures. Flights are not casual drone activity. They are planned, assessed and conducted under controlled operating conditions.

Our approach includes:

-
Trained operational personnel
-
Defined flight procedures
-
Pre-flight planning and risk assessment
-
Aircraft and system checks
-
Operational monitoring
-
Compliance with applicable aviation requirements
-
Continuous safety reporting and review
We also provide a clear occurrence and hazard reporting channel so that residents, stakeholders and partners can raise any concern linked to our operations.

Safety is not a one-time approval. It is an ongoing discipline.
Regulated operations

SKY Mobility operates within the European and Maltese aviation framework for professional unmanned aircraft operations.

Drone and UAV operations in Malta are governed by European aviation rules and overseen locally by Transport Malta’s Civil Aviation Directorate. Advanced professional operations require appropriate planning, authorisation, procedures and compliance.

Our operations are designed to meet the expectations of:

-
EASA aviation standards
-
Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate requirements
-
Local operational conditions
-
Safety management procedures
-
Community and stakeholder expectations
We believe that public confidence starts with transparency. That is why we explain what we do, how we operate and how people can contact us with questions.
Noise: measured, brief and managed
We understand that noise is one of the first questions communities ask about drone and air mobility services.

SKY Mobility takes this seriously.

Recent noise measurements were taken at our Sliema operations area during inspection activity involving OHSA and Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate. These measurements showed that during take-off and landing, noise can reach approximately 85 dB for less than one minute. Click here for the video.

This level is temporary, localised and linked mainly to the short take-off and landing phase. Once the aircraft is in normal flight, the sound profile is significantly reduced.

To put this into context:

-
A busy office or people discussing in an office environment can be around 65–75 dB
-
City traffic can be around 85 dB
-
OSHA’s permissible exposure limit for workplace noise is 90 dBA averaged over an 8-hour working day
-
Fireworks commonly produce sound levels far above everyday environmental noise, often ranging from 120 dB to 175 dB, and can exceed 150 dB at close range
This means that an 85 dB level for less than one minute during take-off or landing is very different from continuous exposure to high noise over many hours.

Our commitment is to keep noise:
-
As brief as possible
-
As predictable as possible
-
As operationally controlled as possible
-
Continuously reviewed as our aircraft, routes and procedures develop
SKY Mobility will continue to assess and manage noise responsibly as part of our community-first operating model.
Cleaner air logistics
Flying ZERO is designed to support a lower-impact logistics model for Malta and Gozo.

For the right type of delivery, an electric aircraft can replace an unnecessary road journey. This is especially relevant for small, urgent and lightweight payloads where using a car, van or motorbike may be inefficient.

Potential benefits include:

-
Fewer unnecessary vehicle trips
-
Faster movement of urgent goods
-
Reduced road congestion pressure
-
Lower direct flight emissions
-
Better use of air corridors for suitable logistics missions
Air mobility will not replace every delivery method. It is not intended to. It is designed to complement existing transport systems where it makes operational, environmental and community sense.
Privacy-first operations
Privacy-first operations
SKY Mobility’s air services are designed for logistics, inspection, emergency support and operational missions — not surveillance.

We do not operate delivery flights to monitor residents, record private life or collect unnecessary personal data.

Where cameras, sensors or onboard systems are used, their purpose is operational safety, navigation, landing support, inspection or mission execution. Their use is limited to what is required for the operation and handled in line with applicable data protection obligations.

Our privacy principles are clear:

-
No surveillance of residents
-
No facial recognition for delivery operations
-
No unnecessary recording of homes or people
-
Operational sensors used only where required
-
Personal data handled responsibly
-
Privacy questions can be raised directly with SKY Mobility
Respect for privacy is essential to public trust. We build our services around that principle.

Supporting healthcare
Some deliveries are more than convenient. They are critical.
SKY Mobility’s air services can support healthcare providers with the faster movement of suitable medical and laboratory items, including:
-
Blood samples
-
Medicines
-
Lab material
-
Medical documents
-
Small urgent supplies
-
Time-sensitive healthcare payloads
In healthcare logistics, minutes can matter. A professional air mobility network can help reduce transfer time, improve resilience and support better service continuity between healthcare locations.
Supporting emergency response
In an emergency, access and timing are essential.

SKY Mobility’s services can support emergency and civil protection operations by helping move small, urgent items when roads are congested, access is restricted or time is critical.

Potential emergency-support use cases include:

-
Urgent delivery of essential supplies
-
Support for first responders
-
Situation assessment
-
Search and support missions
-
Rapid movement of small equipment
-
Operational support during disruption
Our role is to provide an additional capability that can support existing emergency response systems when air mobility is appropriate and authorised.
Supporting local businesses
SKY Mobility gives Maltese and Gozitan businesses a new logistics option.

For suitable goods and routes, air delivery can help companies respond faster, reduce delays and improve customer service.

Business sectors that can benefit include:

Retail
Fast movement of selected lightweight orders and urgent customer items.

Pharmacies and healthcare suppliers
Rapid delivery of suitable medical and health-related products.

Professional services
Secure movement of urgent documents and goods.

SKY Mobility is not only about drones. It is about giving Malta and Gozo a smarter logistics layer.
Supporting Gozo
Gozo needs reliable, resilient and efficient connectivity.

Flying ZERO is designed to support Gozo by improving the movement of suitable goods between the islands and by helping Gozitan businesses, healthcare providers and communities access faster services.
Potential benefits for Gozo include:

-
Faster movement of urgent healthcare items
-
Better access to time-sensitive supplies
-
